Access to playground equipment where kids of all ages and abilities can play brings communities together. It also encourages families to have fun and stay active.
This is why Moda Health and the Portland Trail Blazers teamed up to create the Moda Assist Program, which combines their shared values of health, physical activity and building healthier communities.
In August, members from Moda Health and the Blazers took park in the dedication of a new all-abilities playground in the city of St. Helens, winner of the 2020 Moda Assist Program. Residents of the small Oregon community came out to play on the new playground equipment, meet Blazer the Cat, and win fun prizes and giveaways.
Each year, the Moda Assist Program raises $20 for each on-court assist that the Blazers make during the regular season. Three deserving Oregon communities are given the opportunity to vote for their city to win funds for a new all-abilities playground equipment. The city with the most votes, wins.
Inspiring kids of ages and all abilities to be involved and to play is part of Moda Health and the Trail Blazers’ ongoing commitment to embrace new ways to better health and wellness for the people and communities we serve.
