View dentist ratings in Find Care to make educated decisions about your dental care.

In today’s digital world, online ratings are often used to better understand the options available to you — whether restaurant options, event options or dental provider options. Dentist ratings can help you assess your options and know what to expect to make educated decisions about your dental care.

Through our partnership with DentaQual, you can now view dentists’ ratings (see example, below) when searching for a dentist in our online provider directory, Find Care. Each provider rating — which appears in the provider detail section — will help you find quality dentists who participate in the Delta Dental PPO™ and Delta Dental Premier® networks.

DentaQual ratings are updated each month. If a dentist does not have a rating, it means there is currently not enough data available to provide a rating for them. As the data is refreshed, their score may become available in the future.

How scores are determined

DentaQual’s comprehensive quality metrics, developed by P&R Dental Strategies, don’t rate providers based on subjective social media reviews. Instead, their score is objectively determined by their own treatment data and dental insurance claims from P&R Dental Strategies’ aggregated claims database, DentaBase®.

Over 40 key performance measurements across five assessment categories are used to calculate each provider’s score, including:

1. Treatment outcomes
2. Commitment to best practices
3. Cost-effectiveness
4. Patient retention
5. Treatment recommendations
